Buckwheat noodle restaurant "Shino-ya" in Sapporo City"

by Chis.

Before trying the famous and popular buckwheat noodle soup restaurant "Shino-ya", I let my hubby check up the precise location of it and the parking lot.
A simple cold buckwheat noodle soup topped with fermented soybeans Natto, sliced cucumber, yolk of egg, seaweed, radish paste and chopped pickled radish called "Takuan".

It is closed on Sunday. The parking space for three cars is in front of the restaurant.
The entrance of the restaurant has the heater for the guests who have to wait between the outside and inside doors.
Have you ever seen such grass balls in front of Japanese restaurant ? They create Japanese-like space even in foreign countries.

On certain Saturday !

by Chis.

Today, my hubby showed me the beautiful sunrise that colored the eastern sky pink on the photo.
I had a cold and felt like to have hot buckwheat noodle soup in "Shino-ya" that is very famous and popular in Sapporo City.

There was no customer in the restaurant so I could take photos of the interiors. I will post the photos of the outlook of the restaurant later.
My hubby had curry taste buckwheat noodle soup called "Curry Numban" in Japanese. It looked so yummy and made our body warm.
Needless to say, it energized us so much but I could not enjoy enough the nice and appetizing aroma of the noodle soup.
It is the real successful mixture of Japanese and Indian cultures. Precisely speaking, the broth made from kelp, dried and fermented bonito met curry spice made of garam masala and other spices.

Such kinds of Japanese Japanese pictures wee displayed on the wall in the restaurant.
It is on the ground floor of a condominium at the center of the city. The good taste interiors and the small garden made up the comfy space to savor the quality cuisine. You can drink beer and Japanese sake. Traditionally, buckwheat noodle restaurants had bee the place to drink in Japan.

In the Bay Akkeshi !

by Kazu

It was not cold but the ladies seem to feel the chilly breeze on the sea in these photos.
They were so looking forward to seeing the wild creatures in the bay.
It was very calm in the bay but the world on the land seemed to have start the economic activities.
The sea bed could not be seen in the water from the boat because water-weed filled up the bay and created the best environment for the  creatures.
This red bridge connects the separated communities of Akkeshi Town.
Some public works were carried out around the port.
They were watching the monitor displaying the scenery under the water.
The first visitor to the boat was a shrimp called "Hokkai Shima Ebi" that means Northern Ocean Stripe Shrimp in Japanese. It is so delicious but we released it after checking out the structure of the body.

What do you think is the difference between the photos above and on the left ?
There were two seconds between the moments of shooting.

In retrospect, the days with the beauties made up one of the happiest twinkle in my life because they were so competitive and charming in the conversation.
I hope they will get the jack-pot in their current job-landing.
Besides, it was the time to ship out to the center of Akkeshi Bay that had nurtured various kinds of creatures.

One of the ladies had been craving to catch the fish with her hand and her dream came true on this boat.
What kind of fish do you think she caught ?

Day 2 in Akkeshi Town !

by Kazu

We had breakfast in Japanese traditional inn called "Ryokan" because the accommodation we stayed could not provide breakfast on that day.
We rode the bicycle around the fisherman's wharf after having breakfast.
I really appreciated "Suzuki Ryokan" that kindly provided us nice breakfast. That was Japanese traditional breakfast including grilled fish and fermented sticky soy beans called "natto".
I thought the ladies were satisfied with the service and the cuisine. "Suzuki Ryokan "stepped into the breach.
The first menu on the Day 2 was a kind of "Big Blast" in this program.
We visited the Maritime Creatures Research Center that could be approached easily from the ocean but it was not easy to reach from the road.
Some of them might be doubtful about the existence of the facility in such forest.
They were relieved when they found this sign of the facility.
It's the time to get on the boat !

What the ladies and the civic clerks ate in the ice-breaking !

by Kazu

The starter was boiled octopus-head, grilled ham and corn. The boiled and sliced octopus head was flavored with the sauce made of Japanese miso, fermented soy-beans paste and vinegar, needless to say, sourced locally.
Would you be discouraged if you were treated to such appetizer ?
Believe me. You would be impressed and moved so much with this simple amuse-bouche.
Some kinds of prix fixe are there in the BBQ bistro but I recommend a la carte menu.
This plate contained sushi-grade raw salmon, Japanese conch called "Tsubu", squid, yellowtail and Pacific saury.
Around Daikoku Island off-shore of Akkeshi Town and next to Kojima that means "small island" in Japanese, very fatty and tasty Pacific saury can be landed and savored.
Grilled "Hokke",  Okhotsk atka mackerel, is the "must" in every BBQ bistro of Hokkaido.
The smoke from the grill in the bistro made the air not clear.
But it contained so yam smell of grilled seafood and produces sourced locally.
This is the best-recommended Pcific saury caught near Daikoku Island. "Daikoku"brand has been established in Akkeshi Town to distinguish and acknowledge the quality all over Japan.
But the grilled feast required us to wash up our body in the comfy bathroom to sleep well.
I promise your satisfaction in the BBQ bistro.
