Sushi Bar "Sushi Zen" in Daimaru Depavtm-ent Store !

by Kazu

"Sushi Zen" is one of the most famous and popular sushi bar in Sapporo headquartered in Maruyama Area in the city. It has its branch bars in the most famous and popular bar-hopping area in northern regions of Japan "Susukino" and this place, on the eighth floor of Daimaru Department Store adjacent to the railway station.
The lunch course menu included Japanese appetizer pudding made of broth, chicken, mushroom, seeds of Gingko biloba, leek and fishcake and so on. The chef and his staff did so good job even in cooking the starter.
As a tenant of the department store Daimaru, even for the famous sushi bar "Sushi Zen", the room of the arrangement of the inside is limited but their principle could be seen here and there in the bar. The design of the interiors were so comfortable and played up the protagonist on the dishes subtly.

thenIn Order to Understand Each Other !

by Kazu

This is all the members of the participants from the Coast Guard in Indonesia to the JENESYS Program conducted by JICE Hokkaido. Their host families including us joined and shared the memorial photos.
Some guests from Indonesia were weeping after the lunch and before our departure. We were convinced that we will miss them after that.

It was only two-night stay but we really enjoyed the opportunity to have them in my condo. and experience to have two daughters.

The National Performance of Indonesia!

by Kazu

Our guests from Indonesia wore their own traditional tribal attires so beautiful and solemn. In the send-off party arranged by JICE that conducted this JENESYS program.
In the international exchange event, my wife made a occasion to experience Japanese traditional tea ceremony and making green tea with brush-like tool made of bamboo.
After that, the guests from Indonesia performed their popular dance in front of their host families. It was so funny and attractive that all the host families joined the dance performance at last.

Jenesys Program conducted by JICE!

by Kazu

We had the honor to have nice guests from Indonesia who worked for the Coast Guard of the country. It must be too cold for them at the peak of Mt. Moiwa but I think they could gain the perspective of Sapporo City.
Many other tourists from overseas were also taking photos there and enjoying the landscape of the city and surrounding mountains far away.
They did not know that brown bears had strolled in this area before snowfall and bear attacks occurred  in other regions of Hokkaido. We had to be careful to avoid such unfortunate accidents.

The New Friends from Indonesia at the peak of Mt. Moiwa !

by Kazu

We took the new friends from Indonesia to the peak of Mt. Moiwa in Sapporo City and gave them the overview of the city and the mountains surrounding the city.
The fine view of the distant area might make them imagine the place they could have visited if they had enough time to enjoy their stay in Hokkaido, not only Sapporo City.
It was so cold at the peak of Mt. Moiwa that we took some memorial photos and left there in thirty minutes. We don't have any kids but we felt like we had beautiful daughters on that day.

The New Friends from Indonesia !

by Kazu

On the day when the experimental field on the premises of Hokkaido University was covered with mist early in the morning, we received new friends from Indonesia in the program of Jenesys conducted by JICE in Hokkaido.

They were Muslima and we had to chose the ramen noodle soup restaurant for Muslim/Muslima in Susukino Area, Sapporo. This spicy and hot dan dan mien is genuin halal and doesn't contain pork essence.

We were struck by the taste of the noodle soup and understood why so many Malaysian, Indonesian tourists were savoring the halal ramen noodle soup after waiting for over thirty minutes in front of the restaurant surrounded by white snow.

Breakfast in Otaru Triangle Market !

by Kazu

After savoring amply the top-quality seafood breakfast in the Triangle Market adjacent to the railway station in Otaru City, we strolled around the canal and downtown surrounding it.
Compared to our lunch we took in a well-founded "hole-in-the-wall" buckwheat noodle bar in the downtown of the city, our breakfast was so simple but so gorgeous and high in protein from the ocean.
As my wife had to pick up the souvenir near the hotel we stayed, she had to leave the market before she amply savored all the dishes.
