The High Schools will continue to send students each other !

by Kazu

After visiting Kaiser High School to witness the educational exchange between the students of Sapporo Intercultural and Technological High School and Kaiser High School, we had nice lunch in the Italian Restaurant of Waikiki.

We did not have enough time to have a chat over the lunch but the dishes satisfied and energized us amply. Some of the tourists in the area were so surprised at our business attire and stared us with curiosity.
The blue ocean and the island breeze fascinated us so much but we had backlogs behind in the afternoon on that day. It was a kind of quick bite but the taste of the cuisine and sunshine kindly made us filled up with vim and vigor.

Get Closer !

by Kazu

It seemed that the students of Sapporo Intercultural and Technological High School and Kaiser High School started to hit the stride in communicating each other with the help of the teachers.

After the long flight from Sapporo and Tokyo, some of them must have had jet lug but they seemed to be enjoying the communication in English so much.
The teachers also seemed to be satisfied with the communication between the students of both high schools. Everybody looked so happy and filled up with delight of communication in English.

The Exchange for the Future of Hokkaido and Hawaii !

by Kazu

The students of Sapporo Intercultural High School and Kaiser High School got to know each other with chatting and gaming. Naturally, some of them are so shy but apparently enjoying their encounter and conversation.
I hoped some of them would exchange their contact points on the spot but they seemed to have been connected by line and email.
They've already establish their stable, caring and everlasting relationship under the bright sunshine in Hawaii. I heard of the project "Double Board Exchanging Project" making the most of the popular sports snowboard and surfing is progressing.

The Friendship of SITHS and Kaiser High School !

by Kazu

The students of Sapporo Intercultural and Technological High School and Kaiser High School seemed to be enjoying the chat and games so much.

It seemed that the students of Kaiser High School are taking initiative and kindly lead the students of SITHS. Each of the students of Kaiser High School seemed to be independent and stand on their own.
At first, the teachers guided the students of both high schools and the students of Kaiser escorted so nicely after that. I thought I saw the rosy future of both regions.

The Game between SITHS and Kaiser High School !

by Kazu

During the study tour of Sapporo Intercultural and Technological High School to Oahu, Hawaii, the students of SITHS visited Kaiser High School and did the exchange program including the games to understand each other.

Compared to the students of other high school in Hokkaido, SITHS students was not shy. They spontaneously got closer to their counterparts and started conversation to get to know each other.
We were a little but surprised at the security officers keeping an eye on the whole situation in the hall. Security arrangement just for the contingency should be learned by the Japanese teachers and officers, I think.

The Studying Field of Kaiser High School !

by Kazu

The regulation on the water consumption and electric usage seemed to be strict and the cost is very expensive. The grass field for football seemed a little bit weary.

Each student of Kaiser High School looked so independent and had their own principles and desire to be independent. The island of Oahu may be small compared to the continent and Hokkaido but their mindset seemed to be international and worldwide.
Driving a car on the island is not so tough even if  you go around the whole island but the ocean surrounding the islands is infinite.

The Studying Field of Kaiser High School !

by Kazu

The Ukulele performance by the student of Kaiser High School in Oahu was so heartfelt and impressive. We really appreciate this arrangement to receive the students of Sapporo Intercultural and Technological High School.

The exchange event composed of the speeches delivered by the First Lady of the State of Hawaii Mrs. Dawn Amano IGE, the Principal of Kaiser High School Dr. Justin Mew, the Vice Governor of Hokkaido at that time Mr. Yoshihiro Yamaya and the performances by the students of Kaiser High School and SITHS, was conducted so nicely and over.
The Principal of Kaiser High School kindly took us around the field of the high school and gave us briefing on the educational policy of the high school and their activities.
