The Friendship of SITHS and Kaiser High School !

The students of Sapporo Intercultural and Technological High School and Kaiser High School seemed to be enjoying the chat and games so much.

It seemed that the students of Kaiser High School are taking initiative and kindly lead the students of SITHS. Each of the students of Kaiser High School seemed to be independent and stand on their own.

At first, the teachers guided the students of both high schools and the students of Kaiser escorted so nicely after that. I thought I saw the rosy future of both regions.

During the study tour of Sapporo Intercultural and Technological High School to Oahu, Hawaii, the students of SITHS visited Kaiser High School and did the exchange program including the games to understand each other.

Compared to the students of other high school in Hokkaido, SITHS students was not shy. They spontaneously got closer to their counterparts and started conversation to get to know each other.  

We were a little but surprised at the security officers keeping an eye on the whole situation in the hall. Security arrangement just for the contingency should be learned by the Japanese teachers and officers, I think.

 

The Studying Field of Kaiser High School !

The regulation on the water consumption and electric usage seemed to be strict and the cost is very expensive. The grass field for football seemed a little bit weary. 

Each student of Kaiser High School looked so independent and had their own principles and desire to be independent. The island of Oahu may be small compared to the continent and Hokkaido but their mindset seemed to be international and worldwide.

Driving a car on the island is not so tough even if  you go around the whole island but the ocean surrounding the islands is infinite.

The Ukulele performance by the student of Kaiser High School in Oahu was so heartfelt and impressive. We really appreciate this arrangement to receive the students of Sapporo Intercultural and Technological High School. 

The exchange event composed of the speeches delivered by the First Lady of the State of Hawaii Mrs. Dawn Amano IGE, the Principal of Kaiser High School Dr. Justin Mew, the Vice Governor of Hokkaido at that time Mr. Yoshihiro Yamaya and the performances by the students of Kaiser High School and SITHS, was conducted so nicely and over.   

The Principal of Kaiser High School kindly took us around the field of the high school and gave us briefing on the educational policy of the high school and their activities. 

 

The Performance by the Students of Kaiser High School !

Naginata sword performance by the students of Sapporo Intercultural and Thechnological High School seemed to have grabbed the hearts of the audience from Kaiser High School including the parents of the students.

In return, the students of Kaiser High School played the Ukulele for their friends from Hokkaido. The sound of Ukulele was so nice to recognize again where they were. 

The soft and comfortable sound made all the participants to the event so happy and refreshed. We were very happy to share the time with them on that day. 

 

Ninjari Ban Ban !

The second performance by the students of Sapporo Intercultural and Technological High School was Naginata Sword Dance. The background music was "Ninjari Ban Ban" by Karry Pamyu Pamyu.

In Japan, the wives of samurai warriors were obliged to practice to use Naginata sword to protect themselves in the war and their normal lives. I think it was the matter of the reach of Naginata sword to fight against the males with Japanese traditional sword.   

I think it was a little bit tough for the students of SITHS to bring the fake Naginata sword from Hokkaido to Hawaii but their performance worked wonders there.

The students of Sapporo Intercultural and Technological High School showed their best performance of "Yosakoi Sohran Dance" in the gym of Kaiser High School in Oahu. 

The students and their parents of Kaiser Hogh School were so excited to see the dance performance of real Yosakoi Sohran pecurior to Hokkaido. We were also attracted by their performance so much.

The next performance by the students of Sapporo Intercultural and Technological High School was Naginata Sword Dance. In the Japanese traditional Hakama attire, the female students started their performance in solemn atmosphere.
