Please drink water consciously to avoid heat stroke under the sunshine but be more careful in the room, The humidity keeps our temperature-control system from functioning appropriately.

 The hot temperature and humidity may be good for the plants to grow but the duration to enjoy the fully flourished flower gets shorter in hot weather. Please wait. The hotness will bring bumper-crop in coming autumn. Please savor the quality produces sourced in Hokkaido !

Like Snow White !

I was remembering the white azalea I saw on my way of jogging on the premises of Hokkaido University.. It was so beautiful that I was wondering why the color of white was produced.  

 Of course, the cherry blossoms was also showing their very best of performance beside the pond. It is so hot and humid even in Hokkaido these days. Please enjoy the hot summer but it may be so short.  

Amazing Grace on our way to my hometown !

While I was driving to my hometown Kitami City, we were given a gift of beautiful scenery near Engaru Town near my hometown. I asked my wife to to take these photos from the passengers seat of my car. "It will be fine tomorrow." we thought.
My wife said that she wanted to see the sunset like this while we were staying in a pension of Shimamaki Village on the west coast of Hokkaido Island.  

The dark blue color of the night was falling down over the flame of setting sun. It might be one of the best photos we have taken this five years. How do you feel the beauty of this world ? Thanks God, it was Saturday evening.      

The Day of Gourmet !

In the evening on that day, after gazing at the beautiful sunset, we treated our guest from Korea to this dish of sweets on the highest floor of Royal Century Hotel adjacent to Sapporo JR Station. Each of the cakes was so tasteful that I forgot to take post the photos of other dishes.

 Besides, I found another top-quality restaurant in "Aka-renga Terrace" facing the original prefectural office building called "Red-Bricks".

Peche Grand is the name of the restaurant ? Bistro ?

Wonderful Japanese Occidental Cuisine !

I forgot to introduce this quality popular restaurant in the residential area of Sapporo City. In a sense, it may be a traditional "Japanese Occidental Cuisine" what we Japanese introduced after the Meiji Restoration that brought our nation to the killing field.

Pros and cons, bright side and downside can be seen in each change in the history but the weapon-makers and the traders wanted our nation to use their weapons and kill the people. On the other hand, such yam dishes were introduced into Japan. What do you think about it ?
Besides, the name of this wonderful restaurant is "Cono-yoshi". Please try it !

Petit Sale in Ake-renga Terrace 2 !

Yes, what we had been eager to savor is "Mussel" !
We were remembering the steamed mussel flavored with saffron sauce that we had in Quebec City. Incredibly tasteful steamed lobsters accompanied with that starter at that time. It is a little bit difficult to buy fresh raw mussel in Japan including Hokkaido.

The mussel was so nice as what we had in Quebec City. Grilled chicken breast flavored with garlic, herb and Japanese flat mushroom was world-class, we agreed. Again, the URL is

Petit Sale in Aka-renga Terrace !

One of what we have been missing since we came back from Ottawa is ・・・・・?
We happened to drop by a cozy French bistro in Akarenga Terrace facing the original old office building of Hokkaido Prefectural Government made of red bricks that is called "Akarenga".

Due to the total design of the building, the restaurant is like a so-called "Unagi-no-Nedoko" which means a nest of eel " in Japanese.
It express the shape narrow and long.

A pretty mascot dog was laid at the corner of the restaurant. As a starter, we ordered liver paste with crisp sliced baguette. The pate of tasty liver was so nice that we ordered another dish of sliced baguette. But it was not what we had been eager to savor.
