Hokkaido Sorachi Japan-Taiwan Friendship Association was established !

While the world we love tears itself apart, Sorachi sub-prefectural area of Hokkaido got together for the first time under the flag of Taiwan. Over one hundred people from the municipalities, tourism associations, chambers of commerce and industry, farmers association in Sorachi sub-prefectural area got together to establish Hokkaido Sorachi Japan-Taiwan Friendship Association.

The members of the legislature in Hokkaido also took part in the entity and they were so surprised that the friendship association reached the establishment so sooner than they expected. So were the other members of the friendship association.

Mr. Kaku Igarashi presided the ceremony as the chair of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry  in Iwamizawa.

One of the most powerful members of the legislature in Hokkaido Mr. Tsurube and the mayor of Iwamizawa City Mr. Satoru Matsuno were seated in the seat for VIP to deliver their speech.

The historical night got started with the opening speech delivered by Mr. Igarashi.

To be honest, the hotel staff made a mistake to post the flag on the opposite side.

Mr. Tsurube played the role as the ignition of this movement and delivered the speech that included the beginning of the momentum.

He is so satisfied with the speed of establishment of the friendship association.

Representing all the mayors in Sorachi sub-prefecture, Mr. Matsuno expressed his delight and expectation to the active exchange between Sorachi and Taiwan.

Actually,  he is an experienced  biker who took part in Tour de Hokkaido held in Yubari City and adjacent cities and towns.

The vice-chair of Chambers and Commerce and Industry in Iwamizawa Mr. Youji Tajima was elected to the head of the friendship association.

Facing the top brasses in Sorachi, Mr. Tajima felt his responsibility to head the association.

Mr. Tajima declared the establishment of Hokkaido Sorachi Japan-Taiwan Friendship Association at the end of the meeting.

Mr. Chen handed the golden sculpture of peacock as the symbol of the relationship between Taiwan and Sorachi. This sculpture was delivered to each Japan-Taiwan Friendship Association in Hokkaido. It will be placed in the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Iwamizawa City forever and remind everybody  of the friendship and cooperation between Sorachi and Taiwan !
