A Railway Station on the coast!

by Kazu

This is the small unmanned railway station on Hakodate Line from and to Sapporo City. The name of the station is "Kogane". No officer was there. The conductor of the train takes care of the passenger and takes its toll.

For the maintenance of the railway and the station, many staff should be stay near the station but after streamlining the railway company, they must be dispatched from the nearest key station of the railway.
No express train stops by the station but even now, many students and commuters take and get off the train in this station. Waiting time in winter must be tough for the users, I think.

Miyakoshi-ya Cafe in the residential area!

by Kazu

This is the gallery side of "Miyakoshiya Coffee" cafe building. It was getting fine and the sunshine played up the building and the area so warmly. The clouds were moving so swiftly but the wind was not strong on our level.

The clouds were getting brighter than before and the temperature was getting lower. Before the snow clouds reach the area we would drive through, we had to leave there and head to Niseko area through Lake Toya.
Before that, we dropped by the small railway stations unmanned on the coast. My wife loves to visit such unmanned railway stations in Hokkaido. It is a kind of a variety of railway manias. She belongs to the group of railway manias in her alma mater.

Miyakoshi-ya Cafe Interior!

by Kazu

The design of the building of the cafe "Miyakoshiya Coffee" in Muroran City was so intriguing. This box seat is like that in the typical Japanese bistro "Izakaya" and separated from other area of the cafe.

It may be suitable for familiess and friends who talk a little bit loudly. Small party can be thrown in this room for such groups. The design is so simple and beautiful. It is the beauty of funcioning, I think.
AFter having a nice and energizing breakfast in the hotel we stayed, "Sekisuitei Noboribetsu", we did not try the chef's signature dish "Roast beef sandwich" for 1,400 Japanese Yen on that day. The beef was from Shiraoi Town near the city.

Cheese Cake in the cafe!

by Kazu

This is the chheese cake we could savor in the cafe Miyakoshiya Coffee of Muroran City. I love baked cheese cake and  rare cheese cake as well as apple pie without cinamon. A variety of  music CDs they have in the cafe and I love their taste.

I chose the cheese cake. My wife did chocolate brownie with milk cream. The gallery side of the building could be seen from the cafe. With the background scenery of the ocean, it looked like the world of sure realism.

I have never tried to dive into the ocean from this coast before but I got interested in the scenery under the water around this area.

The wooden deck may be used in warmer season but that may spoil the beautiful scenery from the window for the guests inside.

The best place to kill time!

by Kazu

The piers of the white bridge called "Hakucho Bashi" which means "Swan Bridge" in Japanese could be seen from the window of the cafe "Miyakoshiya Coffee".  To avoid to prevent the ships from going under the bridge, the bridge was built at the higher altitude and showed its beautiful shape to the citizens.

The Miroran Bay was used to export the iron and to import the materials to make the iron originally. Much larger port system was built in Tomakomai City later.
The fishermen's port is east side of the cafe. Small ships were having a rest on the land after their work early in the morning. It was on a certain Sunday and the fishermen must be drinking and relaxing. Cheers!

Cafe surrounded by ocean!

by Kazu

The sea level was much closer to the level we stood. The lower area was designated as the dangerous zone in case of "Tsunami" tidal wave. That is why the houses of this area were on the upperside of this hill.

The neighbors of this cafe may enjoy the afternoon tea set there. Of course, light meal is available for them.
On the opposite side of the residential area, just the blue ocean srrounded the cafe. It had so unique location and surroundings. I was so impressed that I decided to take VIPs from overseas to there.

Miyakoshi-ya Cafe in Muroran City!

by kazu

The building of a cozy cafe "Miyakoshiya Coffee" was like a museum on the hill and actually it has a gallery inside. I was a little bit surprised at the proximity of the building with the sea level. It was much closer than I imagined.

There was a enough space of parking lot beside the cafe and it was in the residential area of Muroran City. It was cloudy when we arrived at the cafe but was getting better as time went by.
The geographical condition of Muroran City is very curious. It is said that the city consists of three large districts. This is one of the three communities. It was very calm and only the sound of waves and winds reached me.
