The East End Station in Japan !

Another shrine could be seen on the small island offshore of Nemuro Port. The citizens of port city pray for the safety of fishery and transportation on the ocean.

My wife is one of the enthusiastic railway mania to the extent I can not understand enough sometimes. This is the most eastern railway station in Japan.

Of course, it is in service even now and a few trains stop by this station. It is very meaningful to take photos of the station and post them on her Facebook to share with the members of the community.

 

Kompira Shrine in Nemuro City 1

This is the northern side on the premises of Kompira Shrine in Nemuro City. The altitude of the houses and warehouses is very low.  

The port area may be vulnerable to Ohtsunami but the city has not been hit by Ohtsunami so far and I hope it will not be hit forever.

This is the statue of Mr. Kahei TAKADAYA who devoted himself to settling the conflicts between Japan and Russia, developing the eastern area of Hokkaido including Nemuro City and establishing the shrine. He contributed to the former prosperity of eastern Hokkaido.  

 

From Akan to Nemuro City !

It was not so hot on that day and the cool wind from the peak of Mt. Meakan-dake blew us so kindly. I have reached the summit twice and my wife only once. 

When we tried to go up to the top of the mountain, my wife was so afraid of the steep hillside of the mountain and the crater on the opposite side that she could not step forward any more.

So I dashed to the peak, took photos and came back to her sitting on the hillside. Sometimes, she can't move on the way to the peaks and cries. Every time she does that, I laugh at her and she gets angry after that.  

 

An old Russel snowplow cart !

It is a kind of Russel snowplow locomotive. Compared to the popular old locomotive that had been used decades ago, it may be much smaller because it did not have to draw many carts for tourists and loads.   

Mt. The mountain range of Akan area can be seen from the lookout near the roadside station. The peaks of Mt. MeAkan-dake and other mountains were so beautiful on that day.

It took three hours to reach the peak of Mt. MeAkan-dake a decade ago but I am not sure if I can do that in my fifties. I am so afraid of torn muscle. 

 

Old Locomotive in Aioi!

The old railway station in Aioi area is well-maintained as a kind of museum that can help the tourists imagine the era the area was fully flourished with the forestry.

many lumberjacks and their families had bee living around the station until decades ago but the buses are the current convenient public transportation for the residents in the region now. 

Old locomotive and carts for loads were still there for display. It may be tough to keep the carts of trains.  

 

AIOI again!

It has been a year since we dropped by the roadside station in Aioi where the railway station for the lumberjacks and their families had been there  many decades ago.

Two carts of train are used as the accommodation for bikers and riders. They can use the washroom in the roadside station but the nearest hot spring spa is a little bit away from here.

I've ever found a few riders staying in this facility before but I've never stayed there before. I am not a railway mania nor a biker but I love this scenery so much. 
 

Trust was there before !

It's a pity that I can not visit this place because of the pandemic of Covid-19 and SARS-2, the mutant corona virus. But I have to polish the tomb stone of my parents and grand parents.  

I have to make a two-day trip to my hometown to pray for my family and ancestors this year. I am craving for staying in my hometown much longer but I have to protect my family.

I can not stay in my hometown this time but now that Sapporo City is the most dangerous place of infection, I have to stand with the current situation.
