National Vice President of China arrived in Lake Toya !

The National Vice President of China Mr. Wang Qishan arrived in Lake Toya and greeted to Mayor of Toya-ko Town Mr. Maya and the President of the Cruise Company Mr. Ohnishi.

Mr. Wang headed to the pier to take the cruiser for enjoying the scenery from the center of Lake Toya. So many bugs were flying around them but they seemed not to care about them.

China reserved the whole cruiser for his visit to Lake Toya and Mr. Wang was seated at  the front row of the lounge on the cruiser.

National Vice President of China arrived in Hokkaido !

The National Vice President of China arrived at New Chitose International Airport in Hokkaido the other day. New Governor of Hokkaido Naomichi SUZUKI welcomed him at the foot of the stairs from the aircraft.

The National Vice President of China Mr. Wang  Qishan seemed to have a good impression on Mr. Suzuki and pleased with the gubernatorial welcome.

A small talk between them seemed to be so comfortable and funny even though it was their first encounter. I hope that a good relationship would established between them and it will help us get over the challenges between China and Japan.

Team Hokkaido to Brazil and Paraguay!

These are the members of Hokkaido Delegation to Brazil and Paraguay in last August. It was a tough business jaunt with long long flight via Frankfurt to South America. Vice Governor of Hokkaido Mr. Yusuke Nakano, Mayors of Shiranuka Town, Bifuka Town, Abira Town,Engaru Town and the Association of Towns and Villages joined the delegation to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the immigrants from Hokkaido to Brazil and the 80th Anniversary of the ones to Paraguay.
I am very happy to have them spry and kicking after the hard travel to South America.

Discovery in my hometown!

The sky over my hometown Kitami City was like a masterpiece drawing of a certain famous artist. The beautiful autumnal foliage near the artificial lake welcome the campers with its artistic coloring.

I've never visited this comfortable area in my hometown before but I understand many citizens visit this area every weekend. Camping space looked so nice and comfy. Please find and visit the lake in my hometown !

Toast in Edmonton and the next morning!

Before celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Sister-state relationship between Hokkaido and Alberta, Canada next year, Speaker of Hokkaido Legislative Assembly Mr. Noritoshi Murata and Vice Governor of Hokkaido Mr. Motohito Uramoto visited Edmonton, Alberta in October,2019. We raised the glasses with Speaker of Alberta Legislative Assembly and his colleagues for the future of the regions. 

He is the man of Snowman!

A gentleman has donated over 6 million Japanese Yen to send a huge snowman to Sao Paulo, Brazil. He contributed so much to maintaining the strong relationship between Brazil and Hokkaido that Governor Suzuki bestowed a letter of appreciation to him.

 His name is Mr. Seiki Shinbo, former head of a local post office in Abira Town. He looked so spry and kicking but he has to fight against a certain disease.
The immigrants from Hokkaido to Brazil and their descendants celebrated the 100 Anniversary of their immigration last August. Hokkaido Prefectural Government dispatched a delegation headed by Vice Governor of Hokkaido Mr. Yusuke NAKANO and Speaker of Hokkaido Legislative Assembly Mr. Noritoshi MURATA. Of course, I also visited Brazil and Paraguay to celebrate the anniversary. Mr. Shinbo had been eager to visit Brazil again to join the ceremony but he couldn't this time. It was a pity that he could not see the huge snowman that helped to send in Sao Paulo but we really appreciate his cooperation to hand down the strong relationship between Brazil and Hokkaido to next generation. Thank you again, Mr. Shinbo! 

Ambassador of Czech Republic visited Hokkaido!

His Excellency Dr.Martin TOMCO Ambassador of Czech Republic visited Hokkaido and paid a courtesy call on Vice Governor of Hokkaido Mr. Yusuke Nakano. Ambassador TOMCO said he was planning to designate a Honorary Consul of Czech Republic in Hokkaido and asked for the cooperaton of Hokkaido to find an appropriate candidate for the role.

Ambassador TOMCO seemed to speak Russian , Englsh and Kiswahili and worked as Ambassador inFinland, Democratic People's Republic of Korea before current mandate. We really appreciate Czech republic for assigning the seasoned and experienced Ambassador in Japan.
