I can not help but feel the similarity of the guardian dogs called "Komainu" and the guardian lions in front of the sacred place and palace of Middle East Area and Europe.
The guardian dog on the left closes its mouth and the one on the right opens its mouth. It is typical design of the traditional Japanese shrines.
Everytime I come back vo my hometown Kitami City, I jogged to this forest on the backside of The Green Center. So far, no brown bear has been found around there but nowadays, nobody can guarantee.
